Author: Tina Kotulski

"Saving Millie" is a must read story which tells with compelling openness the life story of Tina and her sister in living with their mentally ill mother.

The trials, trauma and stress of a family under siege are honestly explained in a frank and heartfelt manner. Years of neglect, abuse, deprivation and enduring love are acknowledged openly in a way that few people in the wide community are even aware exists.

Tina’s love for the mother she “mothered” herself, is apparent throughout the book and is at times gut wrenching. It is the hope of the author that changes must occur in the care of those with mental illness and that governments everywhere need to share the responsibility in mental illness prevention and the provision of specialised care, including provision of support for the children of these people. This work is one of selflessness and empowerment.

A book which every student, health, mental health, welfare, law and emergency professional must read. It is a resource, which pulls no punches, and which really tells of how life is lived in these circumstances. Highly recommended!.
