Bilingual Resource Specialist

National Mental Health Association Resource Center seeks a Bilingual Resource Specialist (Spanish/English) to respond to inquiries regarding mental health resources and referrals. Candidate must have excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills in Spanish and English languages, strong computer skills, and be patient, mature, able to remain calm while dealing with a variety of callers, detail-oriented, well organized, and a self-starter. President

National Mental Health Association

NMHA is seeking a new President to manage the country'­s oldest and largest nonprofit mental health organization, to work closely with 340 affiliates nationwide, to oversee a staff of 49 and an operating budget of approximately $7.5 million, and to develop the Association's capacity to become a symbol of excellence. The new President will serve as the Association'­s chief spokesperson and advocate at all opportunities, functioning as a major policy leader in the Mental Health movement. The new President will formulate and implement marketing strategies to raise the profile of the organization including implementing a major branding campaign that will place the Association at the center of the national dialogue around mental health.

Vice President,

Affiliate Services

NMHA seeks a Vice President for our Affiliate Services Department, which provides support to more than 340 state and local Mental Health Association (MHA) affiliates nationwide. Job responsibilities include: staff management; coordination and delivery of services, training and technical assistance to the affiliate field; implementation of affiliate-to-affiliate communication and support programs; strategic planning; and facilitation of programs to better link affiliates and the national office. Requirements include similar experience working with community-based affiliates or chapters of a nonprofit organization; experience working with community-based organizations involved in advocacy and public education; supervision experience; BA/BS; and at least seven yearsí work experience. Experience in the MHA field as a staff member or volunteer is a big plus. Public Education (Youth and Families)

Manages day-to-day operations of national educational and prevention programs that address the mental health needs of children, youth, families and college-age adults.

  • Develops program plans, proposals, reports and educational materials in all media.
  • Manages relationships with relevant partners.
  • Helps disseminate, promote and apply prevention research. Conducts research on relevant topic areas.
  • Provides technical assistance and participates in trainings for affiliates.
  • Liaises with other program and policy staff on integral programs.
  • Plans and executes special events and other activities, and performs other projects as needed.
  • Responds to relevant media inquiries, upon request.
  • Utilizes cultural competence and health literacy techniques in all efforts.

Requirements: 3-5 years experience in consumer health communications, social marketing or public relations a must. Masters degree in public health, psychology, social work or related field preferred. Must have thorough understanding and expertise in the field of prevention.
